There's no surprise that the justice system for many years hasn’t always granted justice for citizens in this country. Dating back to lynching in the 1880s, to mass incarcerations in the 20th century, and unlawful deaths in the 2010's by police officers, numerous lives have been affected because of the judicial system. Therefore this project is meant to examine the stories and years of injustice and violence people have faced (predominately black and brown) from the justice system. A history of violence and injustice contributed too many lives being altered as a result. Illustrating the points of view demonstrates value of these people. Through different art mediums I will illustrate the important life stories of individuals failed over the years by America’s legal system.
The bottom line is:
There’s value in hearing from a society that is never listened to.
