Arc︎

Arc is an app that expands the capabilities of digitally archiving ideas.

Throughout my time working in design, I have relied on digital archiving as a way to collect and organize my thoughts to reference later. Having used a few existing archiving platforms, I've found that none meet all of my needs. Pinterest excels at image-based content and content curation, but is limited in what format posts can take. Are.na supports content formats such as text and link, but its mobile user experience is unpolished and confusing. My goal in creating Arc is to merge the best features of Pinterest and Are.na, and incorporate new features I haven't found yet on any platform. Overall, I aim to create a user experience that supports rapid-fire ideation and freedom to express ideas in any form.

As this was the final project for my design degree, I dedicated a large amount of project time to UX research, an area I have less experience in, which is represented on my project site. The images shown are mockups, and I hope to continue this project into development.

The bottom line is:
Design is all about exploration and embracing failures!
