Portal Book

Through my time in school I have created alot of publications and often find the form and content inform each other. This publication Book Portal is an exploration into this relationship between book forms, traditional bookbinding conventions, and content. Creating a double spined book allowed for pages and sequencing to rearrange themselves into various combinations. All images within the book are unedited shots taken from found footage and personal recordings transcribed with a running caption over sections of the cassettes that feature audio. Image, timestamps and text are scattered and overlapped throughout to call attention to the sequence and its nonlinear path.

A grainy image of a book taken from a VHS recorder on a white background. The book is across the image and is a medium gray color. There are two covers meeting in the middle with space between them.
