Swan Girl is a collection of poetic prose about the motivating powers and anatomy of Shame. Utilizing personal experiences to fuel its delivery, Swan Girl does its best to verbalize how Shame takes over the body and takes residence within whilst overstaying its welcome. The process has been a trial of giving a name to this certain emotion, to personalize the inner voice.
Using the vehicles of the Swan, the Girl, and the Serpent to represent different actors of Shame, the reader is asked to play as a voyeur into the motions of personal Shame. The structure of Shame stands upon the four pillars of : Shame, Arrogance, Obsession, and Audience.
The actors play out scenes of theological mundanity, to catastrophize the smallest parts of the self and act out in pursuit of envy. The Swan is desired, the Girl remains, and the Serpent is empathy.
